Our Department

The Covington Police Department is a fully accredited municipal police agency serving the City of Covington, Georgia, and approximately 14,000 residents. CPD is led by Chief Almond Turner and operates from headquarters at 1143 Oak Street NE, Covington, GA 30014.

Our department is divided into five divisions covering uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, community engagement, records, and training. Together, our 83 sworn and civilian personnel are committed to the safety and well-being of the people of Covington.

Criminal Investigations

Felony investigations, narcotics, and digital forensics.

Community Services

School Resource Officers, neighborhood watch, special events.

Records & Open Records

Commander: Records Manager Dana Pierce · 4 staff

Custodian of police records; processes Open Records Act requests.

Training & Accreditation
